چکیده

Context: Active M dwarfs frequently exhibit large flares, which can pose an existential threat to the habitability of any planet in orbit addition making said planets more difficult detect. do not lose angular momentum as easily earlier-type stars, maintain high levels stellar activity for far longer. Studying young, fast-rotating is key understanding their near environment and evolution Aims: We study on dwarf GJ 3270. Methods: analyzed dedicated cadence, simultaneous, photometric high-resolution spectroscopic observations obtained with CARMENES 3270 over 7.7 h, covering a total eight flares two are strong enough facilitate detailed analysis. consult TESS data, month prior our own observations, rotational modulation compare those observed campaign. Results: The data period 0.37 d. strongest flare covered by observing campaign released energy about 3.6e32 erg, putting it close superflare regime. This visible B,V, r, i, z bands, allows us determine peak temperature 10,000 K. also leaves clear marks spectral time series. In particular, we observe evolving, mainly blue asymmetry chromospheric lines, attribute post-flare, corotating feature. To knowledge this first such feature has been seen star other than Sun. Conclusions: Our series covers eruption followed up analogous post-flare arcadal loop Sun possible failed ejection material.

The M Dwarf GJ 436 and its Neptune - Mass Planet

We determine stellar parameters for the M dwarf GJ 436 that hosts a Neptunemass planet. We employ primarily spectral modeling at low and high resolution, examining the agreement between model and observed optical spectra of five comparison stars of type, M0-M3. Modeling high resolution optical spectra suffers from uncertainties in TiO transitions, affecting the predicted strengths of both atomi...

GJ 2069 A , a new M dwarf eclipsing binary ?

We have discovered a third detached M dwarf eclipsing binary system, for which we present an accurate radial velocity orbit and a preliminary light curve. From those data, we derive individual masses (0.433 and 0.397 M ) with 0.4% accuracy, the most accurate to date for M dwarfs. Both stars are clearly sub-luminous for their mass, compared with solar metallicity stellar models or empirical mass...

Up to four planets around the M dwarf GJ 163

Context. Exoplanet Doppler surveys are currently the most efficient means to detect low-mass companions to nearby stars. Among these stars, the light M dwarfs provide the highest sensitivity to detect low-mass exoplanet candidates. Evidence is accumulating that a substantial fraction of these low-mass planets are found in high-multiplicity planetary systems. GJ 163 is a nearby inactive M dwarf ...

Investigating coronal saturation and supersaturation in fast-rotating M-dwarf stars

At fast rotation rates, the coronal activity of Gand K-type stars has been observed to ‘saturate’ and then decline again at even faster rotation rates – a phenomenon dubbed ‘supersaturation’. In this paper, we investigate coronal activity in fast-rotating M-dwarfs using deep XMM–Newton observations of 97 low-mass stars of known rotation period in the young open cluster NGC 2547 and combine thes...

Dwarf Companion to the Nearby K Dwarf GJ 1048

We report the discovery of a probable L1 companion to the nearby K2 dwarf GJ 1048 using the Two Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS). This source, 2MASSI J0235599-233120 or GJ 1048B, has 2MASS near-infrared colors and absolute magnitudes consistent with an early L dwarf companion with a projected separation of 250 A.U. The L1 spectral type is confirmed by far-red optical and low-resolution IR spectros...
